Harding House Gallery, Lincoln

 
 

The gallery is reached either from the very top of Steep Hill (The Castle end) or by ascending the hill on foot or by the bus which travels from top to bottom (and vise versa) every twenty or so minutes.

The Lower Gallery contains a permanent but changing display of all the Harding House artists. There are two galleries at Harding House, the lower houses a comprehensive range of contemporary work for sale.


The upstairs gallery is used constantly for exhibitions where a closed circuit television system is in operation. Adjoining the gallery there is some storage space, a kitchen and a W.C. There is access to a private garden from the upper gallery. Please note that Harding House does not have disabled access.

Harding House Co-operative
Harding House is a magnificent listed building situated in a prime position on Steep Hill, Lincoln. The Gallery is well established and re-opened in 1994 after much re-furbishment by Lincoln City Council and English Heritage.

The gallery is run as a co-operative by a group of up to thirteen members, all of whom are artists or makers of contemporary craft. The members are solely responsible for the staffing and day to day running of Harding House. the co-operative is non-profit making and all income is diverted back into the gallery. we act as an agent for other artists and makers and operate a sale or return policy, charging 40% on all work sold.
