Peter Rooke - Artist
Since 1964 I have worked in a commercial environment as a Technical Illustrator and Graphic Designer, taking an early retirementin 1995 giving me the opportunity to concentrate on painting. Firstly, I went back to Art School and did a course in "Life Drawing and Painting", producing many works in all media. I now concentrate with watercolour painting, preferring the immediacy and spontaniety of the medium. My work is mainly landscapes and townscapes and my influences come from the many walks I do around the country.

I have had five successful exhibitions, one in Stroud, two in Painswick, one in Bracebridge Heath and one in Lincoln. I have many paintings in private collections in Europe and America. I have exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London and also appeared on Channel 4's Watercolour Challenge.
